Gig Reviews: Gig Review - Fraser @ Bisley Pavilion, 19/12/09

by Leon

I've been following indie/pop/folk/rock group Fraser for some time now, so when I heard they were playing at Bisley Pavilion – outside Woking, more my area than their other gigs to date which took place in London – I had to be there. And the guys didn't disappoint – their set features fantastic pop musicianship, with beautiful and epic melodies courtesy of lead guitarist Stu Davenport, a super tight rhythm section of doom (Josh Bergson – Bass, Nick Winters – Drums) and of course Fraser Gregory's passionate, soulful and hook-laden vocal style on top of it all.

Every song's a killer, making for a consistently great set that captivated the audience (800 strong – their first Surrey gig supporting Spike's All Stars) for the whole duration, and generating more and more applause as the night progressed. I caught up with the guys after the show to learn they had people queueing to join their mailing list and had sold out of CDs – so remember, if you find yourself at a Fraser gig, get in early to avoid disappointment!

This band are set for big things, so check them out here for more information. Their single 'Lay It On The Line' (a personal highlight during their set) is out on the 25th of January 2010, and right before that they're playing at the Boilerroom in Guildford on the 21st. So click that link right now and enjoy their tunes!
