Interviews: Interview with Sid Jagger from Gay For Johnny Depp

Following on from the UK tour with The Computers, Gay For Johnny Depp have now returned to the States, and Sid Jagger, the guitarist from the band was kind enough to stay in touch with GigReviewer.com and we have hosted an interview with him.  Here's how it went:-

1) Please introduce yourselves, and how you take your place in ‘Gay For Johnny Depp’.

My name is Sid Jagger and i am the only band member who matters because everything amazing about the band is entirely my idea and concept.

 

2) How did you meet, and what is the story behind you forming?

I created the rest of them in a lab with some crystal meth and vitamin D.

 

3) How did you come up with your band name?

Ever watch a Johnny Depp movie without sound? It's super awesome!

 

4) Who takes the biggest role in the song writing?

Sid Jagger, as stated above

 

5) Apart from Johnny Depp, who are your biggest influences?

Oscar Wilde

 

6) Name your top 5 albums

The Cure - Disintegration

Pink Floyd - The Final Cut

Drive Like Jehu - Yank Crime

Philip Glass - Piano

The Beatles - catalogue

 

7) Who would you imagine to be the best artist to play alongside?

Elvis Costello

 

8) Who did you dream of being when you were young?

David Bowie, didn't we all?

 

9) Who has the worst habits, and what are they?

Marty, and everything he does

 

10) What was the worst review you were ever given?

"Shit Sandwich"

 

11) Where was your first gig? What was it like?

Piano's in NYC - 5 people, 2 cases of beer, a sock puppet and some blackouts...

 

12) What was the most embarrassing thing that has happened on stage?

I wore the exact same thing as the drummer to one of our shows, i was mortified!

 

13) Have you written any songs with hidden meanings or about anyone in particular?

Yes

 

14) Have any of you ever met Johnny Depp, or stalked him?

Yes

 

15) Have you ever had any stalkers?

Yes

  

16) Which one song would you say "defines" your band?

The silence in between the songs probably sums it up best.

  

17) Have you ever had to cancel a gig?

Not a one.

 

18) Who were the best and worst bands/artists that you have played alongside?

Best = 65 Days Of Static (tour)

Worst = the new version of Guns N' Roses(festival)

  

19) Do any of you have other hobbies/day jobs?

Very much so

 

20) If you were a superhero, which one would you be?

Captain Crack Whore

  

21) What has been your greatest moment in your recent UK tour?

I finally completed a Saturday Crossword from the NY times.

 

22) Did you realise that when you swore at Canada over here regarding their free health care, that we also get it in England..?

Yep, don't think i'm not jealous of you lot as well!
