Inner City Grit Records

Volume One

Review By Gary Smith, 6th September 2009

Inner City Grit Records, Bristol based recording company, formed by local artists who take a different view on what makes decent music, specialise in new and upcoming underground / industrial styles of music.

This small label are about to release their first compilation CD of all these artists on Monday 14th September 2009. This will outline many different styles, so something will be ideal for you to listen to, dependant on your mood.

This all opens with The Black Bloc, "Death Of A Culture" which opens with mixed feedbacks and heavy vocals with great guitar riffs which really screams out what this compilation is really about.

The album keeps a heavy feel, as a mix of rock and underground dance styles of tracks. Avacate, Pint O' Spirits and Big Joan all help to lift your spirits and minds upon the opening of the album.

The album continues through with chill-out sections from the likes of Vibatronics, and picks things up with some rap and heavy industrial sounds and really gives you a wide spectrum for appeal.

With bands from around Bristol and stretching out as far as Holland, Inner City Grit Records - Volume One is great catch for anyone. This will be avaliable as a free download which we will link on our Albums page upon release.
